One of the District Governor’s core responsibilities is to visit all clubs in the district to provide support, deliver the RI President’s message, and present an update on district goals. It is an ideal opportunity for your club to discuss goals, achievements and concerns. You may also wish to incorporate new member inductions, Paul Harris Fellow recognition or other awards you deem appropriate for the governor to present.
Though each governor may approach this task a little differently, official visits generally consist of a meeting with the club’s board of directors, followed by a presentation during the club’s regular meeting. The governor is the program on the day of the official visit. There should be no other speaker scheduled on that day. Preparation and protocol is typically reviewed at PETS and discussed in advance with assistant governors.
